G5 Entertainment is planning on releasing Treasure Seekers a game for the iPhone and iPad.
The game features the “highest quality crystal clear graphics” and is an immersible hidden object and puzzle experience like Where’s Waldo and I Spy. It has a wacky backstory about Nelly and her younger brother as they “unravel family secrets and face breathtaking adventure”.
It has over 40 levels and 7 specific sites of action with over 19 challenging puzzles. It is coming on October 28th, but I don’t have any word of a price.

Got a new app for you to have a look at today, folks–if you’re anything like me you spend a lot of time ferreting your way through news of all sorts, looking for interesting things to talk about. And in the wrong situation, even the right news doesn’t work. Don’t believe me? Try talking about the mortgage crisis on a first date and see how far you get. And with that in mind, I’ve got a look at the Fluent News Reader for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The Fluent News Reader works basically like a big news aggregator, assembling news stories into one big central pile. You can then flip through the headlines individually using the touchscreen to scroll, or you can search by topic accordingly, with subjects like business, sports, and science and technology. You’ll get a panoply of different sources–I found news from Fox easily intermingled with articles from Gizmodo. And, even better, once you find the article of your choice, you can then read it without going anywhere else. You can save articles, search for others, or just check the headlines. Basically, if you need news at any point about most any topic from most any publication, a great place to start is with the intensely easy to use Fluent News Reader.
Seriously, this app is great. It’s got pretty much anything you could need to sift through the endless piles of news out there and make them manageable…and thus, useful. It definitely beats a lot of search engines I’ve seen, and its “all in one place” style of functionality is welcome and highly valued.
If you do anything with news–follow it professionally, or follow it just to stay well read, the Fluent News Reader will be a big help. Why? Because the biggest help of all: it’s free. But this in turn brings up about the only real problem I have with it–it’s got some advertising support that has a way of getting in the way, sometimes. It’s not always a problem, but it can make things awkward.
Still, for a fully-featured news reader app at a terrific price, the Fluent News Reader will stack up to the best.
The Good
Free
Incredible utility
Profoundly easy to use
The Bad
Some ad support gets in the way a bit
Needs internet access to work
Score 8 / 10

You are sitting in the boardroom and you forgot to bring your “notebook” so you can take “notes” during the meeting. We all know you are just going to draw houses, spirals and other miscellaneous items instead of jotting down those all important budget numbers. Why not take those doodles to the next level with some chalk or fire? Four great ways to get your doodles on is easily attainable in one of these four apps:
Sketchbook Pro:
For the more serious doodlers, or dare I say artists, Sketchbook Pro is a great way to do some serious doodles. Multi-touch, 75 brushes, six layers, blend modes barely explain the power of this app. I mean when Penny-Arcade is able to put out a comic completely drawn with this app, what more endorsement could you possible ask? A lot of power resides in this hefty app, and it just needs you to unlock it.

With the help of Sidewalk Chalk, you do not need to push your kids out the door so you can get your chalky doodles on. Complete with different colors, an array of backgrounds, and even the ability to email drawings to people in your address book so they can print out the doodles and bring a new meaning to fridge art. iBurn 3 – Draw With Fire!:
Time to play with fire! Okay, not literally, but you can doodle with it thanks to the powers of iOS. Not only can you draw with twelve different variations of fire colors, but you can also load up pictures and lay waste to them with your fire art. Once the fire has been put down you can shake and tilt your iPhone to watch the fire dance. All the fun of playing with fire, none of the complaints from Smokey the Bear.

Sand Garden:
At the end of a stressful day, a sand garden will go light-years to helping you wash away the stress of TPS reports and Lumberg complaining about your lack of motivation. Sand Garden not only gives you a great looking sandbox, but you can also put some rocks in it for that authentic Zen garden feel. 3D modeling and different lighting effects even help put that extra bit of polish on your garden of peace. Sometimes, you just need a sandbox to doodle in to help take the cares of the world off your shoulders.

Angry Birds developer Chillingo may cease to be an indie darling in the near future, as EA has bought the company. Reports put an the deal at $20 million cash, but the future of all the studio’s properties are still up in the air.
Chillingo was already a hot commodity after Angry Birds, but the massive success of the recently released Cut the Rope has truly turned the UK developer into a den of rock stars. While companies like Activision, Gameloft and even Intel were vying for the studio, EA was able to close the deal.
“By acquiring Chillingo, EA Mobile is increasing its market leadership on the Apple Platform as well as reaffirming its position as the world’s leading wireless entertainment publisher,” EA’s Holly Rockwood said in a statement.
It sounds like EA wants to keep Chillingo in the mobile space, but we can’t help but wonder if the studio will be asked to dabble in consoles and handhelds as well. EA has dabbled with physics games by publishing Boom Blox on the Wii, but the series has stalled and perhaps the company is looking for a new franchise to bring to non-Apple audiences. There’s also the distinct possibility EA could request a totally new IP from Chillingo, one which could be backed with a big budget and marketed across all platforms.
Where things may get tricky is in regards to ownership rights of games published under the Chillingo banner. Rovio created Angry Birds, while ZeptoLab made Cut the Rope, and, at least according to Rovio, the development studios still own those properties. A Rovio spokesperson says his company “controls the Angry Birds brand and any future products,” so at least that franchise may remain apart from this deal.
At any rate, let us be among the first to congratulate Chillingo and wish them the best of luck under the new ownership. They’ve already proven what talented, dedicated people can do when they put their minds to it so they deserve all the success and wealth they’ve earned. Well done guys, keep up the good work.

We just reported yesterday that TerreStar, makers of the Genus, might be going bankrupt, now we know that it is true.
TerreStar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for liabilities in a range of a huge 1.6 billion dollar debt. Fortunately, EchoStar, one of TerreStar’s creditors, is offering $75 million in financing to help the company operate.
We’ll see what happens to the company here.
