logo2 Ruckus Mobile Media puts children’s stories on the iPlatformRuckus Mobile Media announced the availability of Apps based on children’s stories. It reminds me of PhoneBook and Tales2Go, but these Play-Read-and-Record-along Apps which have an animated video and read by celebrities.

For example, you can get Pecos Bill is told by Robin Williams, Johnny Appleseed is told by Garrison Keillor, and John Henry is told by Denzel Washington.

There is more available pending Apple approval, but the three that you saw in the aforementioned paragraph are about $3.99 each.

hand e holder Hand e holder for the iPadYesterday, we covered how Griffin Technology was coming out with five new iPad accessories. One of them was the AirStrap, and it resembles the Hand-e-holder.

The Hand-e-holder allows the user to hold the iPad with just one hand, and it uses an adhesive piece of Dual Lock “better than Velcro” so you can take it by the hand. It makes it easier to re-orient the iPad.

You should be able to get it for about $39.99 from the website.

facebook logo 315x118 Facebook Adds Temporary Passwords By Texting 32665 and Now Has Remote Log Off
Facebook has launched a couple of new security features for those who log in from public computers. The first security feature is a temporary one-time password and the second feature is the ability to sign out of Facebook remotely. Here is how they both work:

To get a one-time password, all you have to do is send a message that says “otp” to 32665 on your mobile device. Facebook will text you back a password that can only be used once and expires in 20 minutes. This is a great way of protecting your account from getting hacked into when logging in from public computers.

Facebook also has a way to log out remotely too. Within the Account Settings, you will be able to view all of your Active Sessions. This includes mobile devices and computers logged in to your Facebook. You can log out of these individual Active Sessions and reset your password from this menu. Below is what this feature looks like:

verizon prepping the ipad1 iPad coming to Verizon storesVerizon has yet to get on the iPhone bandwagon yet, but they are getting the iPad, just like we speculated.

Verizon is offering three bundles with a Wi-Fi model, with the company’s MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, a device that provides access to Verizon’s 3G network. The user has to use that 3G network if not using Wi-Fi.

Now, here’s what it will cost:

The first bundle will include the 16GB iPad Wi-Fi and the mobile hot spot for $630. The 32GB Wi-Fi model and hot spot will retail for $730. Finally, Verizon will be selling the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad with the hot spot for $830. The company will also offer all three iPad Wi-Fi models without the hot spot. Verizon didn’t specify prices, but Apple sells those models for $499, $599, and $699, respectively.

Verizon’s decision to not sell Apple’s 3G models isn’t a surprise. The iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G connects to AT&T’s network, making it a nonstarter for Verizon.

Those who plan to buy the iPad bundle featuring Verizon’s MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot will need to pay a monthly fee for access. Verizon said it will charge $20 per month for 1GB of data, with no contract required.

AT&T isn’t allowing only Verizon to get in on all the fun. AT&T also announced today that it will start selling the three versions of Apple’s iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G starting on October 28. It will charge $629, $729, and $829 for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models, respectively.

AT&T offers two data plans: $15 per month for 250MB of data or $25 per month for 2GB of data.

This Apple/Verizon partnership is an interesting sign of the future.

500x powermat1 Powermat working on a phone that doesn’t need an adapterSome of you may have seen wireless charging facilities like the Powermat.

For those that aren’t familiar with the Powermat, it uses inductive charging so the user can simply lay his or her mobile phone on a mat and it will charge up without a cord. Of course, most mobile phones need to have a special adapter for their phones, but that adapter could be a thing of the past.

Actually, it sounds like the Powermat is going to get its own phone, like INQ is possibly making a phone for Facebook and built-in Spotify.
