Google’s Android Honeycomb is expected to be the platform that makes Android tablets what they could and should be. However, many have wondered what will happen to the platform once the various hardware manufactures get their hands on it. We’ve seen it happen in the past with Android as companies like Motorola have implanted Android with Motoblur but will the same happen with Honeycomb?
As you’re sure to know, Motorola is set to drop the XOOM which is the first Honeycomb powered tablet. Rumors had been circulating that the device would feature the Motoblur UI but it seems that this is not the case. In a statement to Phandroid, Motorola has said that the XOOM is a Google Experience Device meaning everything will be kept as vanilla as possible and Honeycomb will be as stock as can be.
Of course, this doesn’t count out the possibility that future devices will have manufacturer tweaked user interfaces so we’ll have to just wait and see.
