Android – Iphone – Applications

The Nokia C6-01 made its first appearance in July with the news related to its availability in Netherlands, but more recently a retailer from Bulgaria got some photos of the device and noticed that the operative system is the Symbian^3 instead of Symbian^1 that was included in the “old” Nokia model.

In terms of technical specifications there are some changes as well with the main one being the camera – instead of 5-megapixel it has a better 8-megapixel camera that comes with dual LED flash.

Taking in consideration that this isn’t official news we’ll have to wait until the the 15th of September which is the release date to confirm the rumors about the Nokia C6-01.

Google’s mobile software engineers have been working feverishly since Android’s launch in 2008 with the T-Mobile G1 to update the mobile operating system as fast as possible. Starting out with version 1.0, Android is already at version 2.2. Unfortunately, while the Android 2.2 public build has been available for quite some time straight from Google, hardware manufacturers and wireless carriers alike have been a bit slower releasing their updates with only some phones actually receiving it thus far.

However, if you’re a Galaxy S owner, for instance, waiting next month for the 2.2 build you have it easy. It was just made known that the Canadian version of the Motorola Droid (known internationally as the Motorola Milestone) won’t be getting updated to Android 2.2 until Q1 2011.

Of course, this may change and Motorola may push forward the Milestone Android 2.2 roll out but for now take your anger out in the comments below.
