Yelp’s core service is reviews that people leave about local businesses. Local businesses with the best reviews on Yelp tend to have higher revenues as well. Now local businesses are starting to offer Yelp-only deals for customers. “Historically, we have provided value to our 36 million monthly unique visitors by helping them find a great local business when they need a product or service,” stated Yelp’s Director of Local Business Marketing. “As you will see today in San Diego, and soon in other cities, we have been working with some of the best local businesses — as identified by the Yelp community — to highlight some great deals for our users.” [Yelp Blog]

It seems like everyone is doing something 3D these days, and I suppose that the ones who are ahead of their time are going glasses free.

Such is the case with the Nintendo 3DS, and also this Rockchip Supernova X1, not to be confused with the Supernova from Nokia. My source says that this was found on display in China, but the 3D effect of this Disney flick too some while to be processed, apparently.

Of course, one does not know if all this 3D thing will catch on for the smaller screen, without glasses.

This is about all that is known about said mystery tablet/PMP, but it should show up at IFA next week.

Considering the e-readers that have been flooding the market, such as the new Kindle 3 and Sharper Image’s Literati, I can’t help but wonder if more is needed.

Nevertheless, Acer’s LumiRead is ready to ship in October. It was under glass at a booth at the last Computex, and we know a few more stats.

We know that it has 3G and WiFi wireless capability, as well as a 6-inch (800 x 600 resolution) E-ink display, as well as some sort of partnership with Barnes and Noble.

However, we should know more when it is on display at IFA, but the price will be $316.
