While T-Mobile was the pioneering carrier in the Android world with the launch of the first ever device powered by the platform dubbed the T-Mobile G1, Verizon is really the company that helped make Google’s Android what it is today. If it wasn’t for the Motorola Droid and the immense marketing push behind it, Android may not have become as popular with competiting platforms instead running the show.
Today, another device seemingly powreed by Android hast turned up dubbed the Motorola XT300. According to our sources, this device will be a lower end Androdi powered device for Verizon Wireless and will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a form factor similar to the Palm Pre.
Of course, seeing how this is a leak there is no official confirmation that comes with it so sit tight until either Motorola or Verizon say more.
