If you’ve been paying attention you probably know that some rumors surfaced not too long ago talking about how HTC could be producing some Facebook branded smartphones. These rumors came after an onslaught of other rumors that pointed towards Facebook phones but have remained unannounced. However, those of you anxiously anticipating a Facebook phone from HTC will be disappointed to hear that the social networking behemoth has just come forth to deny these rumors.
Below are the words of Facebook exec Dan Rose:
“This is really just another example of a manufacturer who has taken our public APIs (application programming interfaces) and integrated them into their device in an interesting way. The rumors around there being something more to this HTC device are overblown.”
So while this means that there may be no Facebook phone coming from HTC, there is no telling what the future holds. We’ll have to wait and see.
